Seasonal: Dine & Dash guide

Seasonal: Dine & Dash guide
Welcome to my guide to the Seasonal Event "Dine & Dash". All objectives require you to finish different feats in Battle Royale. Some of them are pretty easy, but there are several rather tall orders. I'll try to help you with these.

This is written from the perspective of a (currently) Master IV player with mediocre skills. If you are great at BR you'll likely not need to read much of this guide.

How it works

As with every Seasonal Event, there are a number of tasks you need to complete. Each of them requires you to finish the previous one; you can't do them all in one game.

Rewards

Apart from some XP cards and Credits there are four item rewards:

BR Strategy

My strategy to enter the Top 10 most of the time is to hide and wait it out. I used the Defender class to make sure I have some control over my opponents.

My preferred camping spot is the top floor of a house almost exactly south of the Upgrade Terminal at Standoff. First off, land where the Upgrade Terminal is (or should be, as they don't appear in the same spot every time). There you'll hopefully find at least one weapon crate which you should loot. Then, make haste towards the house in the south. Next to that house is a shed and next to that shed is almost always another weapon crate. Loot it, then jump through a window into the two-story house (don't use a door!). Run upstairs, collect what you find and move to the small room (straight on when you come up the stairs). There, position yourself in the far right corner, crouch and aim your iron sights at the door frame.

Sooner or later an enemy will enter the house. Even if they use the Ninja class you should be able to hear them since most use the doors. Also, the staircase tends to creak if they come upstairs. Once they come into sight, just shoot them. If they are a bot, that's easy, but if you have the feeling it's an actual player, use the Defender's shield skill to confuse them first, then quickly kill them. As for weapons, I prefer the AK117 and the DL Q33 or Arctic .50 although I don't snipe much when using this strategy, read on to learn why.

Loot their stuff, rinse and repeat. If the safe zone is going to move somewhere else, you'll have to move as well. I prefer to move very late since there often are cars or a motorbike near you. At that point there shouldn't be much more than 40-50 players left. Drive straight to the middle of the new safe zone and find a new house to camp out in. The best ones are those that are like the first house - two stories, just one staircase - but the rather common barns work too (you just can't hide as well). Any house with a room wth just one door works well, although its better if it's upstairs so you can hear them on the stairs.

Make sure you don't move too much to avoid showing up on people's minimap and always focus on listening for footsteps, breaking glass or footsteps. Don't do anything silly like trying to snipe people through the windows as you don't really want anyone's attention. Something you really need to avoid is a tank noticing you since they tend to shoot through the windows, making the house a death-trap.

While this isn't a surefire way, my quota of entering the Top 10 is about 90%. Winning is another matter altogether, but once you have entered the final 10, it's very possible. Success depends greatly on where the safe zone is moving to.

Challenge 1 - 5 BR Matches

Nothing to say about this really. Just play five BR matches, doesn't matter if you win or lose.

Challenge 2 - Enter Top 10

To complete this you either need to win the match or at least end up in the final ten players. Depending on your current BR rank, this can be easy or more difficult. Follow my BR strategy above to reach this goal.

Challenge 3 - Airdrops

During a Battle Royale match, big weapon containers are dropped at random locations inside the safe zone. You'll need to open five of them. Sounds easy, but since these crates usually contain very valuable items, competition for them is great. Additionally, you have to be the first player to open an individual Airdrop. Unopened containers are marked with a green dot on the map. Don't expect to complete this within one match! In my experience, you can't open more than three containers per match anyway, and you really need to be on your guard when rushing to an Airdrop as everyone and their mother will try to loot it first. If you can find a Helicopter, your chances increase, but again in my experience other players will do the same.

Challenge 4 - Kills in Diner

Diner is a small settlement in the eastern part of the map. To complete this challenge, you need to kill 10 players there. Land there (I suggest landing at the Upgrade Terminal so you can get some weapons from the crates that hopefully spawned there) and try to find someone to shoot. In most games there are at least 2 bots around that area, sometimes even more. If Diner is a high level area (marked yellow on the map), you can expect players there too.

Challenge 5 - Top 10 x3

You'll need to enter the Top 10 three more times, so follow my BR Strategy above.

Challenge 6 - Vehicle kills

This is the final challenge and certainly the hardest as it's surprisingly difficult to find people who enjoy being killed with a vehicle. Most even shoot at you when you are trying to kill them! It's not easy to get even one vehicle kill, especially when playing normally, so it's best to focus exclusively on them.

The best vehicles to kill enemies with are the Tank and the ORV. If you can manage to grab a tank, things are likely to be easy as the bot players tend to be rather careless around it. It's also extremely well armored. As long as you keep moving, there's little chance you'll get blown up.

With an ORV, make sure the vehicle has full health before trying to kill a player with it, as it gets damaged quite badly and you don't want to die as well. Better switch vehicles after the first kill.

While the tank is only available later in a match, the ORV is always present. If you want to attempt this with the ORV, better do it early in the match when players are plentiful and less geared. With the tank, this doesn't matter as it always kills with one or two hits.

If you got that far, congratulations on your new Soldier skin!
