Radiated Sector guide

Radiated Sector guide
Welcome to the Radiated Sector event guide! While this event isn't difficult by any means, it still requires a good amount of grinding. This guide will show you how to complete the event in the least amount of time.

How it works

You can find the event under Events/Featured. As you might gather from the picture above, there are five reward levels that require a certain amount of Resistance. You build Resistance by using Stim Shots which you can obtain by killing opponents in any mode. Depending on the reward level you'll need more and more Stim Shots to gain 1 Resistance. You also need to accumulate Battle Time which is simply the time spent fighting.

Playing Attack of the Undead or any mode on Tunis awards double Stim Shots, although this bonus doesn't stack (so playing Attack of the Undead on Tunis doesn't award 4 times the Stim Shots).

Here is the amounts of Stim Shots and Battle Time required per level:
Level Stim Shots Battle Time (minutes) Total kills Total Combat Time
1 1 1 100 1h 40m
2 2 1 200 1h 40m
3 4 1 400 1h 40m
4 8 1 800 1h 40m
5 10 1 1,000 1h 40m
So to reach the final reward you'll need a total of 2,500 kills - or 1,250 if you only play Tunis or Attack of the Undead.

Tips & Tricks

Since the event consists of grinding, there's little point in an actual guide. However, to maximize efficiency, I have the following tips for you:
  • don't play on Tunis. The map is simply too big and much time is spent running and looking for enemies, regardless of mode (but some are worse than others)
  • don't bother with Attack of the Undead either. While the matches are usually over quickly, there is no way to select a map. If you happen to get Tunis, the time spent running around is time spent doing nothing. Also, since the amount of possible kills is restricted to 7, the most Stim Shots you can get is 14, far less than in other modes. It's also more than likely you won't be able to kill everyone yourself.
  • do play Rapid Fire! With unlimited ammo and fast charging Score Streaks/Operator Skills, this mode is the way to go if you want a ton of kills really quick. 30 to 50 Stim Shots per match aren't unusual, more is possible if you are really good or your opponents are bots.
  • if Rapid Fire isn't available, the most effective way is playing Hardpoint on Rust. Since the map is so small, you save a lot of running time, and if you wait till the Hardpoint is taken by the enemy, you can easily kill many of them at once just by tossing a grenade, popping a Sentry Gun (or Predator Missile) or just shooting them all up.
To maximize your kill speed you should use the UAV, Sentry Gun and Stealth Chopper score streaks. UAV is good as well but isn't passive and its success is very dependent on the map and you can't keep killing stragglers while it's active. As Operator Skill I recommend using either Gravity Spikes, War Machine or Death Machine. As for weapons I prefer the HBRa3, RUS-74U, PDW-57 or AK-47 but anything goes except for Shotguns or Sniper Rifles.

Just run around and kill absolutely everyone to rack up score streak. Spam UAV as much as possible for passive streak generation and unleash your Sentry Gun and Stealth Chopper as they become available.

One important thing to remember is that while Stim Shots are the most relevant thing to grind, you also need to accumulate Battle Time to be able to actually convert them into Resistance. It's a good idea to play a Battle Royale match every once in a while to collect some Battle Time, although this gets less and less important the higher your Resistance level is.

You'll still need a good amount of matches to unlock all levels but with this method you can get there a lot faster. If you have some weapons to level, this is a great opportunity to do that as well!
